to my personal blog. Here I post examples of my photography and writing. I specialize in making unique and highly detailed photographs. Notice I said making and not taking. Yes I take photos but a lot of time and work is involved in pushing and punishing the pixels in my images to achieve the look I like.
Please feel free make comments about any of my words or photos. I enjoy constructive critiques, learning about locations to shoot or photography techniques. Click on the "Share Article" link to share any of my photos via Flickr, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Want to use one of my posts in your own blog? No problem, but please make sure it links back to the original post here and do the right thing and give me credit. Don't copy my words, crop the images, remove the watermarks or claim my work as your own. This has happened more times than I can count so I've had to report copyright violations to ISP's and regrettably the violators blog is usually taken down.
Can't we all just get along?

Vietnam era reconnaissance aircraft photographed on the flight deck of the USS Midway in San Diego, California. It was a beautiful, cool and sunny day. The clouds were particularly dramatic and made a perfect background in addtion to the skyline.

The Fisherman's Wharf Walgreens store is reflected in the windows of this San Francisco Municipal Railway streetcar. All of the F line cars park at this spot for about 5 to 10 minutes making this a fantastic place to take photos of them. I can setup my tripod and in an hour capture images of several different streetcars.

San Francisco's Municipal Railway's streetcar no. 1052 awaits passengers at Fisherman's Wharf before departing for the Castro district. I can't seem to take enough photos of these amazing streetcars.
Resturant in the San Francisco's marina district. Kathy and I were tired after a very long walk to the Palace of Fine Arts and decided to stop here for lunch. As I remember, it was very good food and a welcome rest.

I went to Chicago for my company's Creative Summit. A three day conference held for all of Parson's creatives company wide. There were graphic designers, 3D artists, writers, editors, coordinators and supervisors present. It was a great and valuable experience.
I stayed at the hotel Club Quarters at 75 Wacker. I was lucky enough to get a room on the 29th floor of the tower section of the hotel that overlooks the Chicago River.
This photo was taken by opening the window and extending my arms (but not my body) out as far as I could to take a 3 shot HDR. There was no way I could have managed my normal 10 shots. I had to use Photoshop's align layers function to compensate for my camera shake. Hand held HDR's are difficult, especially when taken from 300 feet above the ground.

This is where it gets interesting
The Field Museum's Brachiosaurus Dinosaur towers over Ohare's terminal one. I had just gone through the TSA's security checkpoint at United Airlines' terminal one at Chicago Ohare when I spotted this huge dinosaur towering above. It seems this is a replica of a Brachiosaurus that is in the collection of the Field museum. I need to visit!

Setting the color balance for this shot was very tough as the tower that appears to be green in the photo kept changing colors, becoming bright white and then completely dark during the 10 exposures I took. I ended up having to set my color balance manually in Adobe Lightroom.
Ohare walkway to Terminal One. This walkway is located under one of the active runways at Ohare and is used to get from ground transportation to United's terminal one.
This is a 3 exposure HDR shot hand held. I fully expected security to come running over when I took my camera out of my bag and began shooting.
